Natural Insect Repellent using Essential Oils

Insect have extreme sensitive sense of smell, which helps insect to specify plants and insect’s complex interrelationship. Some plant emit aromatic molecules to attract particular insect, and some to protect themselves from certain insect. Therefore, it is effective and safe to make use the pure essential oils as a natural insect repellent.

Unlike most of the commercial insect repellent on the market, which contain irritating chemical, essential oils are very helpful to repel insects and are relatively safe and natural alternative if use properly. However, if you are pregnant, you must select proper essential oil, AVOID HAZARDOUS ESSENTIAL OILS!

Moisturising Oil for Acne

Recipe for Moisturising oil for Acne:

2 tsp Hazelnut Oil

1 tsp Jojoba oil

1/4 wheatgerm oil

6 drops Rosemary essential oil

2 drops Bergamot essential oil

2 drops Cedarwood essential oil

2 drops Tea Tree essential oil

400 IU’s Vitamin E (optional)

Put all the above into an amber glass bottle, shake well to mix. Apply daily after cleans and toner. Avoid eye area.

Antiseptic Toner for Acne

Aromatherapy essential oils which has antibacterial properties is used to decrease bacterial growth and to prevent infection. If skin is too dry, then the oils for oily skin are recommended. Bargamot and geranium essential oils helps to balance the skin. Vitamin E, evening primrose or wheatgerm can bee added to help prevent scars.

Recipe of Antiseptic toner for Acne

4 ounces herbal infusion (or distilled water)

1 tbls cider vineger

1tbls Witch hazel lotion

1 tsp honey

2 drops Tea Tree essential oil

2 drops Bergamot essential oil

2 drops Juniper essential oil

Add the herbal infusion or distilled water into a small spray bottle. Add in vineger and witch hazel lotion. Add essential oils to honey, this aromatic honey is then add to the earlier mixture, shake well. Use it as toner after face wash or after facial steam treatment. Facial Steam Treatment for Ance

Acne, has symptoms ranging from slight blemishes to deep skin infections. It may appear as red sores, blackheads, whiteheads or pimples. Too much oil (sebum), accumulate of dead cell and blocked pores, medication such as birth control pills, cosmetics, stress all contribute to this problem.

Below are some factors that may cause acne:

- Family/Genetic history. The tendency to develop acne runs in families.
- Hormonal activity, such as menstrual cycles and puberty. During puberty, an increase in male sex hormones called androgens cause the follicular glands to get larger and make more sebum.
- Inflammation, skin irritation or scratching of any sort will activate inflammation.
- Stress, through increased output of hormones from the stress. While the connection between acne and stress has been debated, scientific research indicates that “increased acne severity” is “significantly associated with increased stress levels.”
- Hyperactive sebaceous glands, secondary to the three hormone sources above.
- Accumulation of dead skin cells that block pores.
- Use of anabolic steroids.
- Any medication containing lithium, barbiturates or androgens.

Diarrhea Remedy with Aromatherapy Essential Oils

Diarrhea means that you have loose, watery stools, normally more than three times in one day. You may also have cramps, bloating, nausea and an urgent need to have a bowel movement. Diarrhea may cause of bacteria, viruses or parasites, certain medicines, functional bowel disorder, food intolerance, food poisoning, nervous condition and diseases that affect the stomach, small intestine or colon.

Acute diarrhea is a common problem that usually lasts 1 or 2 days and goes away on its own without special treatment. Prolonged diarrhea persisting for more than 2 days may be a sign of a more serious problem and poses the risk of dehydration. Chronic diarrhea may be a feature of a chronic disease.

If the diarrhea is cause by viral infection or food poisoning, it is a natural protective response by the body try to expel as much of the harmful organisms as possible. Therefore, if suspected this is the case, let the body run its course for 2 hours before getting concerned. Anyway, you should talk to your doctor if you have a strong pain in your abdomen or rectum, a fever, blood in your stools, severe diarrhea for more than three days. Diarrhea can cause dehydration, which means the body lacks of enough fluid to function properly.
